HKBU's MSc in Finance (FinTech and Financial Analytics) programme provided top-tier faculty, generous scholarships, and staff support to enable me to excel and reach my full potential. This degree led to an exciting opportunity, as I was hired directly by one of my professors, and we now work together at Crypto.com.
PhD Candidate, SKEMA Business School, Paris, France
2021 Graduate
My goal for enrolling in the MSc in Finance (FinTech and Financial Analytics) program was to add a bit of “Tech” to my “Fin” since I am a finance major. I was instead served with intellectually stimulating content and equipped with practically relevant skills needed to excel in the shifting finance landscape. The experience was deeply satisfying, far beyond my initial expectations.
This program has set me up for a lifetime of research in the new and exciting developments at the intersection of finance and technology. The practice-oriented courses in machine learning, textual analysis, blockchain, and cybersecurity among others have given me the ability to evaluate, design and execute empirical research projects in a way that would otherwise not be possible.
Besides the stimulating coursework, I also got the opportunity to test my start-up ideas and subsequently led a team to win a bronze prize in the Hong Kong Blockchain Olympiad and an opportunity to represent Hong Kong in the International Blockchain Olympiad in Bangladesh.
I also led another team to successfully secure a nomination from the Knowledge Transfer Office to represent HKBU in the Cyberport University Partnership Programme (CUPP) under the auspices of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and Cyberport. This MSc programme is gentle yet intense and is perfectly curated

The program has helped us, no matter as fresh graduates or guys who have been working for a few years to further build up their hard skill sets and the knowledge set in terms of the newest or most recent developments in the financial world.
Apart from these, the most important takeaways for us are the connections that we built no matter within the class or outside the class as well as the insights that we gained to spot the opportunities around the globe, which helped us quite a bit in terms of the career development.
