Adjunct Professor Martin Wong

Martin Wong was most recent an Executive Director and Head of Exchanged Traded Solutions Sales, Asia-Pacific at BNP Paribas since 2015. Martin was responsible for the bank’s existing businesses of warrant and CBBC in the region, as well as developing Exchange Traded Solutions in the region. Martin gained extensive experience in listed products across Asia including structured warrants, CBBCs, futures, options and ETFs. He also served in sales and marketing roles in distribution of common equity-linked products, structured products and correlation-linked structures to private and consumer banks and other financial institutions in the region. Prior to joining BNP Paribas, Martin was a Director and Head of warrants at Citigroup Global Markets Asia Limited from 2013 to 2015 and an Executive Director of Rabobank International within the Equity Derivatives department from 2005 to 2013. Martin holds a MSc in Insurance and Risk Management from CASS Business School, London and a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London. Martin has been a course lecturer for Hong Kong Baptist University since 2011 specialized in teaching the subject of Securities Derivatives and Risk Management. His investment banking experience has allowed Martin to blend textbook theories with practical case studies in his teaching, which has been well accepted over the years.

Prof. Lau is currently CISO at Crypto.com, a Blockchain FinTech with market cap of over USD 450M as of early 2019; helping them become the first cryptocurrency company worldwide to achieve company-wide ISO27001:2013 certification. Prof. Lau was formerly regional Cyber Security Advisor at Microsoft, with over 18 years of experience holding executive roles, advising international clients such as Credit Suisse, Falcon Private Bank, ETH Zurich, Swiss Air Force, Social Security Administration and many more. Prof. Lau has completed Executive Programs at both Stanford and Harvard, and holds a double degrees in Engineering (Hon) and Commerce. Associate Professor of Practice Dorothy Chau

Dr. Chau is currently the APAC Data Protection Officer & Head of Security Assurance at Crypto.com.  Before joining Crypto.com, she was the Director of Hong Kong, Macao, and Cross-border Financial Affairs at Tencent. Before joining the industry, Dr Chau was a Senior Lecturer at the HK Baptist University, within the School of Business. She was also the founding director of the Master in Finance (FinTech and Financial Analytics), bringing together the best minds and leaders in Finance, FinTech, A.I., RegTech, Privacy and Cybersecurity to the programme. With over 10 years in this space, Dr. Chau is a seasoned FinTech professional with a strong reputation as being an industry and academic liaison. She is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Stratford Finance Limited, a consulting company focused on dealing with regulatory and operational issues in the financial services and digital assets space and advises brokerages, fund managers, and technology providers.

Most recently Angelina held Senior Advisor, Group Chief Operating Officer and Group Chief Risk Officer roles at the HashKey Group, a regulated digital assets company that recently received the second Approval in Principle from the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission to operate a virtual asset trading platform. Dr. Denis Yip

Dr. Denis Yip has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of ASTRI, effective in October 2021. He is a veteran with over 30 years of extensive leadership experience in both the public and private sectors, covering management, strategy, operation, research and development as well as marketing.

Dr. Yip had worked in Hong Kong, Beijing, Guangzhou, San Francisco, Shanghai and Tokyo, and served at senior positions in a number of large enterprises. He served as the Commissioner for Belt and Road of the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, Hong Kong SAR government, since June 2019.

From 2017 to early 2019, Dr Yip served as President and Director of the Digital China Holdings Company and the Fujian Start Group respectively. He steered the development of the enterprises and established their business footholds. He had been the Senior Vice President and the President of Greater China of EMC Corporation since July 2006, and the Senior Vice President and President of Greater China of Dell Technologies Inc. since 2016. He was responsible for the overall business operations in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan during the period. From 1991 to 2006, Dr. Yip held a variety of senior management positions in the International Business Machines Corporation (IBM), including as the Vice President of the Asia Pacific Storage Division.

Dr. Daniel Chan is a veteran IT professional with 20+ years of experience. Currently, he is Head of Strategic Planning of the Office of Information Technology, Hong Kong Baptist University. His provides leadership in formulating the strategies and roadmaps for the development of information architecture and systems to cope with the vision and mission of the University. He also champions the adoption of innovative technology in support of university vision, driving process improvement to cater for changing business needs and students/staff experiences. Previously, he founded a couple of AI companies in the domain of data annotation, model building, and pose detection with the ownership of a couple of US patents. He also holds stock-option-bearing advisory role in another AI company serving yet another domain. One of his recent text analytics projects involved extracting information from 60M text documents which called for the use of latest technologies available in Natural Language Processing (NLP). Besides developing programmatic AI solutions, Dr. Chan is proficient in the use of industrial grade AI tools that can expedite the development of machine learning models. Previously, Dr. Chan held CTO, ED, INED, GM and Director positions in MNC’s. His track record includes leading a company to IPO and listed in the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. Dr. Chan received his Ph.D. in Computing Science from the University of Glasgow (UK) and subsequently earned a Royal Society Fellowship (UK) and a Marie Curie Fellowship (EU).
