Celebrating FinTech Student Achievement in AI & Legal Tech

We’re thrilled to share that one of our MSc in Finance (FinTech and Financial Analytics) students, Mr. Azamat YELMAGAMBETOV, competed solo in the Agentic RAG Legal Challenge and placed 3rd on the official leaderboard under the team name “CPBD”.

The challenge tasked participants with building a reliable legal RAG system over real legal documents. Our student’s approach focused on:

-        Hybrid retrieval to capture both lexical and semantic signals

-        Page-level grounding to anchor answers to exact passages

-        Evaluation loops for iterative self-checking and quality control

-        Constrained answer generation to ensure factual, source-backed responses

This achievement highlights not only technical excellence, but also the ability to apply cutting-edge AI methods to complex, real-world problems in the legal domain.
